Bola Tinubu: New Government, New Agenda in Nigeria

To celebrate the inauguration of the nation's 16th elected President, the Federal Government of Nigeria last week proclaimed Monday, May 29, 2023 as a holiday for all employees. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the country's most populous black president, will take the oath of office.

The Independent National Electoral Commission named Tinubu the winner of the presidential election on February 25 over Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. His win was a crucial turning point in the political climate of the nation.

Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, the candidates for the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party, respectively, are contesting the former governor of the nation's commercial city, Lagos, former governor's election victory at the Presidential Election Petition Court.
