Congo Ebola Outbreak, Second-worst in History

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is grappling with the world’s second largest Ebola epidemic on record, with more than 2100 lives lost and 3100 confirmed infections since the outbreak was declared on 1 August 2018 as noted by the World Health Organization. The outbreak is centred in the northeast of the country, in North Kivu and Ituri provinces.
